Reflection
Comfort and Hope in the Lord
2 min read
Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.John 14:1-3
This passage invites us to trust in God and in Jesus when our hearts are troubled. Jesus says that he is preparing a place for us in his Father’s house, and that he will take us to be with him.
Family worries, uncertainty at work, exam anxiety, and loneliness in the life of a pravasi can weigh on us. In times of illness, we can pray and also seek the care we need. Trusting in the Lord who prepares a place for us, we can take today’s responsibilities one by one.
As we remember the departed this month, may the Lord’s promise comfort our hearts. Let us entrust our fears and hopes to Jesus and try to live in his presence.
A moment to reflect
- What is troubling my heart?
- What can I do today to trust Jesus more?
Closing prayer
Lord, bring comfort to my troubled heart. Help me trust in you and live this day with hope.
